Jennifer Garner has opened up about her split with Ben Affleck, saying she doesn’t regret the relationship and he will always be “the love of my life.” The pair split in June after 10 years of marriage, and the actress gets candid in a new interview with Vanity Fair.
Garner addresses rumors that Affleck’s alleged affair with their nanny, Christine Ouzounian, led to the split, saying the 28-year-old had “nothing to do” with their decision to divorce.
“Let me just tell you something: we had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny,” she reveals. “She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation.”
She also admits that she would do it all over again if given the chance: “I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him. And I would go back and remake that decision.
“He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room; the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy.”
The estranged couple have remained close for the sake of their three children, Violet, 10, Seraphina, seven, and four-year-old Samuel, and even spent Valentine’s Day together.
She reveals, “We still have to help each other get through this. He’s still the only person who really knows the truth about things. And I’m still the only person that knows some of his truths.”
Garner admits she’s not ready to start dating again; however, she has been approached by men, including one brave guy outside an airport bathroom.
She laughs, “I was so floored…I want flowers; I don’t want to text. What does that make me? What kind of dinosaur am I?”
