It is the day after Halloween and lots of people are giving their recap of the night to co-workers, classmates and that random hookup they woke up next to. This normally includes a play by play on “how many beers did you have, bro?!” However the day after Halloween is also the day to tally up who in the nation had one of the most offensive Halloween costumes. Past years have included pedophile priests, a burning 9/11 World Trade Center and a Boston Marathon bombing victim.
Jesus Christ, dude.
Well it looks like we already have a contender for the most offensive costume of 2016. Blackface Rapist Bill Cosby is in the lead. A white fraternity brother at the University of Central Arkansas has already been expelled from the school and his fraternity chapter suspended after he posted a picture of himself to Instagram at a Halloween party last week wearing a trademark Cosby sweater while wearing blackface makeup.
He posted the caption; “It was a bold night.”
If I had to guess what this kid’s name was, Brock Denton would probably be at the top of the list. College students named “Brock” really do not have a good track record with this kind of thing. And if I had to guess what Brock looked like without the blackface makeup it would also be this:
After Brock’s expulsion and the Sigma Tau Gamma chapter’s suspension, the university released a statement saying;
“This picture is highly offensive and repugnant, and this representation goes against all we, at UCA believe in and stand for.”
The frat house where blackface Bill Cosby made an appearance.
Having since deleted his Instagram account Brock pleaded for forgiveness on social media, hoping that people understand he is not a racist. Brock said:
“I have been sent death threats, threats to burn my house down. I am scared for my life. I am the farthest thing from discrimination, as a matter of fact I fight for equality everyday, I’ve been writing a book for the past two years on what it really means to be a good person.”
What kind of advice must be within the pages of Brock Denton’s book on being a good person? Only wear blackface on Halloween and when you do make sure it is of a serial rapist? He went on to say;
“Please except my apology not because of me but because of the sake of this great nation.”
Forgive Brock for America! The former sitcom star, Cosby, now known for slipping drugs in victim’s drinks has been accused of sexual assault by over 50 women, and just this week is in court to try and get criminal charges against him dismissed on a pending trial. Can’t wait to see what sort of costume Brock comes up with next year.
Break Debate: Do you think Brock should have been expelled from college for the blackface Bill Cosby Halloween costume?
